Multiplying By Tens

Multiplying By 10:

When we see the table of 10.

1 X 10 = 10

2 X 10 = 20

3 X 10 = 30

And so on

On analysing the pattern we find that

Any number multiplied by 10 is the number with a 0 in the ones place and the number is moved to the left.

For example

33 X 10 = 330

456 X 10 = 4560

2345 X 10 = 23450

The same holds true for all the numbers.

Multiplying By 20:

Any number multiplied by 20 can be written as

42 X 20 = 42 X 2 X 10 = 84 X 10 = 840

Multiplying By 30:

Any number multiplied by 30 can be written as

21 X 30 = 21 X 3 X 10 = 63 X 10 = 630

Similarly

12 X 40 = 12 X 4 X 10 = 48 X 10 = 480

Hence we can say that

To multiply any number with the multiple of 10. We write 0 at ones place and multiply the other numbers
